About us

July 2023. We change names!

Nature is the greatest proof that everything renews and transforms. Like birds changing their plumage and trees shedding their leaves, we too are changing.

After two seasons of encounters, experiences and humble successes, we understand that our time for renewal has arrived.

We cherish the legacy built with love and effort by Cris and Paulo over the years which makes our house a special place for guests.

The decision to change and choose a new name for our inn was not an easy one but the time has come for a new season in our lives.

With respect to the ancestry of the Brazilian land, in its mother tongue – Tupi – we found the word that translates our feeling of welcome: Aiti meaning NEST. It evokes the dazzling nature that surrounds us, the birds that display daily their unique beauty and the comfort of home translated into the personalised attention that we want to offer.

April 2021. Love at first sight.
For the house. For the garden. For Cris. For Paulo.

November 2020. Looking for a special place. Antony had already talked to me so much about this guest house that I knew it by heart. Before seeing it. When I was first confronted with this explosion of trees, birds, sculptures and views, I knew it was there. Waxed concrete with insertions of wood on the floor. Wooden windows worked out by a golden hand craftsman. Breakfast preparation – the height of the day. The soul of the place flying around and fluctuating at the pace of the trade winds. Calm. Simple. Awesome.

We talked about life. About projects. About this island which has changed so much over the past 25 years. About people living here. Happy and beautiful. We had a few beers. Cris prepared wonderful meals. I run the place up and down, right and left, with Paulo explaining to me the why and the how of every tree, every plant and every flower. So that the place would be perfect for the birds of Boipeba Island. Naturally. Simply.

Those who pass by don’t want to leave this paradise. I returned to Europe, knowing I would be back few months after with Caroline, to live here and please our guests.

The task is huge because the love distilled by Cris and Paulo is such that we can only deliver Excellence. In the way we care of a space, once wild and now domesticated. In the way we welcome our guests, had they had the chance to be here before or not. In the relationship with the people of Boipeba with whom we will live and work.

Cris and Paulo flew to Europe in April 2021. With 4 suitcases. A bit more than 1 kg of luggage each for each year lived here. A big page has turned for them, for us, in the great book which is life.

Bedrooms are nestled harmoniously in the vast garden and offer all comforts for a pleasant and relaxing stay.

From the terrace you can enjoy the cooling breeze of trade winds and listen to the constant sound of birdsong.

Sumptuous breakfast included, served at the table by the owners. Each day different, with a large variety of homemade treats.

Would you like to privatize the whole guest house?

The inn can be fully privatized between May and August, with daily cleaning service.

In addition to the 2 suites and the wooden room described above, you will have access to the main house containing:
– a vast deck overlooking the garden for meals, work or games
– the living room
– the kitchen
– a double bedroom with balcony
– a small office
– a bathroom

In total there are 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. Ideal for 8 people.
